About Edward Farber
Edward Farber is an artist and writer, living in St. Louis, MO. He has opened four galleries here at FineArtAmerica with examples of his work and will be adding more to them. He has been a working artist for many years as a commercial artist and art director and more recently in fine art. While painting in acrylics and oils is his primary passion, he also likes to draw in a number of media including pen and ink and pastels. His work has appeared in St. Louis Artist Guild exhibits and elsewhere, and hang in private collections. His subject matter is varied, ranging from cityscapes, to scenes where people play a dominant role, and a combination of both. Early on he was an abstract painter, but his style has evolved into a more representational approach.
Now retired, he teaches art, tends to his artwork, and plays golf--weather and arthritis permitting. He also is author of the book, Looking Back with a Smile, a collection of humorous anecdotes looking back at more than seven decades of observing life, available as an Amazon Kindle ebook at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007BOMACO and a volume of short stories entitled, Echoes of Clara Avenue, a Kindle ebook: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C41ZHV0.
His open edition prints are available here at FineArtAmerica. Visit his website at: www.farberart.com for original art and giclee prints, signed and numbered by the artist.
Ed says, "My painting tends to be realistic, but I'm not a slave to realism. Often my admiration for the impressionists peeks through. I'm city bred and love the sights and sounds of the city. I especially like to paint scenes of older neighborhoods which remind me of my own growing up, and I usually include figures somewhere in my cityscapes to underscore the humanity and vitality of neighborhoods, buildings and homes."
